This week we focus on another key member of Primary. Many of you will know him as
well as met him as he is the Sales Manager of the company. But how well do you REALLY know him ?
Chris is the Sales Manager for Primary Networks Group and is responsible
for all sales and marketing matters for the group. He has been with the company for 8 years and joined as a
Senior Account Manager and led the MBO from Stordata plc into private ownership and onto being a successful diverse IT company.
Chris has worked in sales and marketing roles for many IT manufacturers and resellers
throughout his career and has considerable experience with european distributors. He now specialises mainly in the commercial
sector as well as managing the main MOD clients. He is married with a 9 yr old son.
"Your 60
seconds starts now !"
1. What was your most rewarding project?
A large roll out for several MOD sites in London. It was a big project and we designed
some key components. I was particularly pleased that we delivered on budget and ahead of schedule and it went very smoothly.
2. Who are your most rewarding clients and why?
I enjoy working with clients who have a clear understanding of what they want to achieve
and are open minded to new technologies and ideas. This makes it far easier for us to present meaningful proposals to
realise their objectives and it's great to show them the benefits to their business.
3. Do you have any specific territory?
No. We will work anywhere in the world. Over the years we have worked on projects
in Egypt, Europe and even Australia. We have been working with a number of partners in Dubai and have now set up an
office out there to create a local presence. (click here to go to site)
4. What do you consider to be the most exciting new technology at the moment?
Cloud computing is the new buzz word as is virtualisation. Primary is involved in
both these areas so we have a good understanding.
5. What interests do you have outside of work?
I spend most of my time running my 9 yr old son to all his sports events ! He's
mad on football and cricket and just loves playing all sport. In the remaining spare time I have left, I am a keen squash
player and enjoy being out on my mountain bike when I can.
6. Who is your favourite personality and why?
Richard Branson. He seems to have achieved so much in his life and is still only 58.
It's incredible what he has built in such a short time.
7. Who is your least favourite personality and why?
This is easy as both Nigel and I agree totally on this. Any so called “celebrity”
that doesn’t have an ounce of talent in their body! Sadly, this covers quite a few !
8. Do you have a favourite film or book?
I tend to read business related books rather than fiction. I love to read about
successful entrepreneurs and learn about the qualities they have that sets them apart and enabled them to do it. I also secretly
hope that some of this will rub off on me but I'm still waiting for this to happen one day ! Currently I am reading Tycoon
by Peter Jones (from Dragon's Den).
9. Do you have any challenges for 2009?
I enjoy mountain bike riding and this year we have a planned cycle ride up Snowden
in North Wales. It will be gruelling but will be a major achievement if we make it to the top. The downhill should be
fun as well ! |
